
The 33-year-old player has extended his stay with Santos FC, a top-tier Brazilian club, for another six months. He had returned to the team in January 2025 after parting ways with Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia.
There had been speculation that Neymar might return to Europe, but he chose to follow his heart and remain with Santos FC.
He said:
“I made this decision based on my heart. Santos is not just a team, it’s home, it’s my history and my life. This is where a boy became a man. I am loved here, I can be myself, and I’m happy.”
Santos FC President Marcelo Teixeira described the move as a gift to the fans:
“It’s a historic day, a gift to our supporters. Our boy, our role model, our number 10 will stay with us.”
Neymar Jr has played in different teams such as Barcelona, Paris saint Germain.
In the 243 matches Neymar has played for the club, he has scored 141 goals and provided 69 assists.
